Guest guest
I'm pretty sure she was probably talking about " Enbrel " or one of the other biologics. Take Care Babs
Guest guest
I am pretty sure its Kathleen too...and its Enbrel becuase she was spokes person for Enbrel at one time. As far as non-toxic meds are concerned...any chemical or substance you put in your body has the potential to be toxic to some degree. Even Enbrel or the other biologics can have side effects that can range from mild to fatal. Of course I have to agree with you on the Methotrexate...its really is toxic and like taking poison every time I took it...the side effects were horrible and it was one drug I was so happy when I could no longer take it!! I have recently switched to injectable (not because of nausea--I tolerated the pills fine; I switched because my rheumy thought I might get a better benefit from the injectable--and I am). My main side effect is the need for a nap at 1 p.m. on the day that I take the medicine. It has truly been a godsend to me. My energy level is up since switching to the injectable, and I'm so happy about that! :-) Sierra
Guest guest
Sierra, Its good that it works well for you. For me it was horrible. I was so sick I could barely move. It was making my fatigue worst...the worst it had ever been..never better. The side effects made it impossible for me to tell if it was doing me any good. I am happy if it works for you...it was life in the worst nitemare for me! I am now on Humira. I have taken two shots so far. The burning is NOT fun..if it gets much worst I will stop taking it...but so far it seems to be helping a lot. I am not nearly as tired. Though I do spend two days in bed after i take it for fatigue. Then that wears off and I am fine. I know I am getting ready to flair again because I have my usual intensely itchy spot and buring painful wrists. So we shall see...it appears that its not working as well as its suppose to be. I still need to get back on my plaquinil...ts just hrd to bring myself to taking it.
