Guest guest
Are you talking about ulnar drift perhaps? If you look that term up on you will get some explanations and pictures. Sometimes the fingers will overlap each other, sometimes the start bending to one side. If this is the case I suffer from it in my right hand. In 2004 I had a 15 dgree deviation and a few months ago it drifted to a 40 degree deviation. Right now I have to wear a dynamic brace that pulls on the fingers, training them to go back into place. My joints are ok, considering the damage in the rest of my body. The options are to do replacements or to do soft tissue resurfacing. Both take about the same time to recover. I am hoping the brace will work. If not I am going to talk to my hand surgeon about the soft tissue resurfacing after vacation. Shandi [ ] Question about fingers... > Hi everyone! Guest guest
Both my index fingers have been slowly shifting so that the nail faces my middle fingers.....My pinkys are turning towards ring fingers in the middle joint but the tips are starting to face away from all the other fingers. None of my fingers straightens all the way anymore, altho they do not close into a fist anymore, either, not sure if you mean any of those things? I had a nodule on my rt index finger for about a year and it went away on it's own and then I got one on my left index finger, it also went away, but now I have one on left index finger at the joint at the tip. All the knuckles at base of all my fingers on my hand stay swelled most of the time and once in awhile they make my fingers all look like they are aiming away..... All these things, sometimes they hurt and sometimes they don't and sometimes they can look awful and not feel bad, and sometimes they can feel terrible and not look quite so bad. (and then sometimes they look and feel bad at the same time) My rheumys have never offered any solution or treatment for nodules or the fingers turning.....altho sometimes I feel strange cuz they might say hey wait, last visit it was your OTHER hand......(yeesh I keep telling them I am not symmetrical, and things change fast) - In , " MNPMAIL " <mnpmail@...> wrote: > > Are you talking about ulnar drift perhaps? Guest guest
e, The middle finger on my left hand does that. It started moving towards my ring finger. But the nuckle just below the finger is huge. That is why I am going to OT to get a ring splint to help straighten it out. I hope this helps some.
