My name is , and while I've lived in California for over 35 years now, I am originally from Zanesville, Ohio. I ran away from the cold and snow as soon as I got the chance! My husband has asthma, severe at times but under good control for the last ten years or so. I'd always been the healthy one until about three years ago, when I started having problems. It took about a year to get a diagnosis of polymyalgia rheumatic, and later added fibromyalgia and diabetes from the heavy prednisone use. We have three grown children, all of whom have some health issues. Our oldest, Ed, has a mild asthma, the middle son, Mike, has asthma, has had pneumonia several times, has a partial hearing loss due to ear infections and allergies (fluid in his ears when he was little damaged the nerves), and psorasis. My baby, , has severe asthma, moderate to severe psorasis, and gastroparesis. She's always been thin and fragile because she can't digest food properly, but at 21 seems to be doing much better. She's finally found a doctor that actually figured out that the psorasis on her face, and the psorasis on her body are two different types, and has given her something that works on her face. She suffered so much in grade school and high school because of her food allergies, facial problems, and asthma. All this led to a pretty severe depression. I almost home schooled her in high school, but found a private school that was willing to work with her health problems. She's now a junior in college doing very well, living in her own apartment. God gave me these children. The boys were both surprises, but was planned. My doctor warned me I might have difficulty getting pregnant because I was in my late thirties, but it only took two weeks! My kids have been the source for my greatest sorrows, but also my greatest joys. I don't even want to think about what my life might be like without them, it would be so empty and bleak. We have also been blessed with grandchildren. Ed is the father of twin girls, and , 13 months old, and another due in June. I don't think I would have made it without Him. You are dealing with a lot, and it seems like handling very well with His help. You and your family will be in my prayers. -- South Pasadena, CA See my galleries! - http://www.pbase.com/arenared986
