Tori had her Upper GI Series this morning and did FANTASTICAL!! The

Radiologist was in with us and he showed me what was going on. Her

esophagus has severe hypotonia and whatever she digest does back up a bit.

He will be getting the results to her GI asap. She has her Video Barium

Swallow Study this afternoon. Will let you know how this goes!

Liz, I am so happy that it went well so far. I don't think I could swallow that

barium stuff. I hope Tori can manage that one.

Char,

We're storming heaven here, too...at a loss for words. Thank you for being the

group's bridge to Cyndi. She is not alone in this. If Gareth could recover as

his systems were shutting down (two years ago) than so can this sweet boy.

Love and hugs during this unthinkable time.

Hi Beth & group,

I agree and from previous situations this is a powerful group. I spoke with

Cyndi last night about 11:00 pm. I called this am and his levels are seesawing.

He was given potassium and magnesium. The liver levels are still not good but

better than yesterday. He remains on the respirator in ICU. He has doctors from

every specialty.

, just turned 16. He has not been well for sometime with repeated bouts

of pneumonia and staph infections. The doctors see a young man with a disability

and SIB. They tend to treat the behaviors than listen to a parent and look

further to investigate the root cause.

Cyndi, That's good news that he's feeling better and about also. I have

to tell Cyndi, my daughter went through the same thing, she is 19. Hers was

hereditary dysplasia. My sister had it when she was 16. Scary stuff when a

teenager gets an abnormal pap.

Terry

Update

Hi Group,

Cyndi called late last night. I meant to post this last night but sat on my sofa

for a few minutes and fell asleep, oh well. The docs are leaning toward lupus

that may have been the result of undiagnosed Raynaud Syndrome. was gabbing

yesterday; go, Mom, Dad, get. Cyndi was thinking that the steriods had something

to do with him being so verbal. I think wants out of that hospital, poor

guy. She was also told that he did not have MRSA, someone misread the files,

MSSA.

, 's sister is doing fine with a clear biopsy.
