Guest guest
As a nurse and the other of five children, if I knew when my kids were younger what we have knowledge of now, I would INSIST that all immnizations be separated. I did learn enough that Elie never reeived the " P " in DPT, he also reeived only Measles and Mumps as a baby, ut that was because Rubella (in the Middle East) is not given until puberty to girls only! But I did agree to his being given the MMR as required by PA when he was 12. I still think separating baby shots is a good idea. Then if the baby becomes ill, there is a chance of determining if the immunization is the prolem. Did a check with the pediatric practices in my area (South East PA and Nothern DE.) The peds whose offices I spoke with all agree to give the shots separately.Problem is that you will be charged a co-pay each time if you have an HMO. the multi- immunizations at one time saves money. I would pay. MY OPNION of course. After he retired and I had two more babies, our new pedi was confused about that, since they don't do it that way now. I don't believe that Maddie's autism came from immunizations. However, the onset of autism was so abrupt, that I can't help thinking it was due to her illness. DH believes it was just always there and surfaced after her illness. She was extremely sick for three months with an awful URI and was hospitalized for hydration. We were testing for everything, including encephalitis which *I* thought she had. My pedi was great and did every test I requested. Donna
