Dennis,

My guess is that the side effects are too great to list. I was having trouble

with my eyes drying out. I had to stop wearing my contacts because it was so

bad. I suppose that the redness could be a side effect as well. Peg

I was talking to my daughter today and she asked me who hit me. I didn't

notice it, but my right eye is totally red from the iris to my nose. It

happens once in a while but don't know why. It doesn't really hurt, so I

don't know when it's red unless someone tells me. And, it happens to either

eye. Is there anything in our meds that might cause it or is it something

else? I haven't seen it listed as a side effect.

MTX, Prednisone, Lodine XL,Enalapril, etc...

I suppose meds can bring this on but I was told by one of the many

rheumatologists I have seen that RA can dry the eyes out all on it

own. With my eyes being so dry, blood vessels break in the eyes which

in my case made the eyes very red. It is usually one eye at a time

that is affected. I have had this happen on the mTX but it has also

happened without meds. Many of the things we take for RA reduces fluid

and dry us out even more including herbal remedies and allergy

products. I usually just use natural tears and hot or cold damp towels

to the affected eye and this brings relief. I actually feel it when

the blood vessel breaks. In my case, it hurts.

take care
