Guest guest
Jan, I don't know what it is with your foot pain, but I don't know mine either. I was having so much pain it dominated my life and it seemed no one had answers. Then I went to see a Podiatrist Surgeon. The first trip he gave me shots in each foot. That was at the junction of the 3rd and 4th toes. He poured a numbing solution, which I think the action must have been to freeze the area. And the shots hurt like crazy. When they stopped hurting a few hours later they were so much better. That was the first relief I had gotten. My feet were so sensitive that anything at all touched them caused terrible pain. They felt like they were in a open fire. For months I had slept on a sofa with the calves of my legs on the arm rest thus nothing touched my feet. When I went for my follow up I felt like if he could give me another shot and it was decrease the pain as much as the first ones I would be sooooo much better. But he said no, you get only one shot as there is potential for damage. He didn't explain it very much. A few months later I did talk him into another. I took my daughter who was having pain with her hand to a hand doctor. He gave her shots which I assume was the same as what I had. He explained much better why they don't repeat shots. In a nutshell it can damage the tendon and/or the nerve. On these sites I often read where people are getting multiple shots. But I don't have enough information to actually know what I'm talking about as I don't know what my shots were and don't know what others are getting. Anyway I hope that the shots you got give you as much relief as mine did mine. I had gotten so that I could not go shopping at all, not even to pick up a single item in the grocery. I'm walking again enough now that I can do this in limited amounts. I hope for the best for you.
