Welcome! I'M sorry you are having hand problems along with

evreything else. Have you tried any over the counter medicine for it? Some

Aspercreme

may help along with some tylenol and a hot as you can stand it soak for your

hands. As silly as this sounds, Whenever myhands are hurting i run water for

dishes as hot as i can stand stand it. By soaking my hand s in the hot water

i get some relief from the aches and the dishes get done too! If there are

no dishes to do,(yeah like that ever happens) Just run the water in the

bathroom sink and add something like bubble bath or oils so that it works kind

of

like aromatherapy. Ok i'm done rambling for now. lol HUGS and again welcome.

can relate.

One Dr. recommended steam treatment and it did give me the much needed

temporary relief at least until the meds kicked in. What I did was put a wet

washcloth in the microwave for a minute --as hot as you can tolerate it without

burning yourself-- then wrap the w.cloth around your hands/wrists.

I hope this will help you as much as it helped me. Good luck.

that is a great idea! i never thought of putting wet anything in the

microwave... lol I'll try that next time thank you! hugs

Hi, .

I do the same thing does! It's a good, fast, effective way to

some relief.

Another nice thing--if you want to spend some money--is the little

" spa " tub (usually big enough to accommodate hand + wrist or a foot)

that you heat paraffin wax in. I got one at a yard sale for $10! But I

think you can find them on eBay or on sale so you don't spend much at

all. You heat up the paraffin, dip your hand and wrist in for a little

while, bring it out so the paraffin gets more solid, dip in your hand

again to pick up another layer of the wax, etc. You can build up a

paraffin " glove " as thick or as thin as you want. Then, you just leave

it for a while. The paraffin holds in a really soothing warm, moist

heat. When you're done, you just peel off the paraffin and put it back

in the little tub. Helps me a lot. I just wish there was a way I could

give my knees this treatment.

if you wrap a dry towel over the top of the moist one it will hold the heat in

and it will stay warm for a much longer time. linda

Hi -

I am with you on the hand pain. I have been in really bad shape lately since

my Remicade stopped working. I use a paraffin wax hand treatment and that

helps.

My doctor upped my prednisone and that makes it better. But that is not the

magic pill.

I bought one of those at full price when my hands were in such terrible

shape. They put my hands in the wax at physical therapy, and it felt so

good that I bought my own. After getting the wax on your hand, you wrap

it in plastic and I also put on an oven mitt to hold the heat as long

as possible.
