RE:RA and Lyme

I had Lyme before I was diagnosed with RA. I was in Late Lyme, which means

it was in my bloddstream for a while before it was caught. My levels will

always come out -positive, byut Lyme was found in my Spinal fluid when doing

another test so I did three weeks of IV antibiotics. All my tigling and

numbness disapperead after that. The rheumy told me that I was probably

predisposed to RA but that the Lyme spurred it along, because of the immune

response. I live on Long Island where Lyme is common so they always test

for it, but late stage Lyme does have many similar symptoms to RA, Fibro and

other things.
