Guest guest
Hi, I think I said this before, but I can't remember. I think I might be having a bit of fibro fog now, but I can't be sure because I can't think too clearly. My physical therapy was put on hold this past Wednesday, because I simply couldn't make it. Today I managed to get four blocks and back on level ground, but it was very painful and I'm somewhat wrecked now. After raising a bit of a ruckus at the therapy center , I was given the Wednesay appointment for the neurologist. I am drafting a list of questions for her, and I'd like to post them to the group. By the way, I have a 360 page but I don't know how to get that green triangle under my name. Here are my questions. Dear Doctor: If you can't give me a definite diagnosis right now, please tell me what conditions you suspect I might have. After a number of blood tests, an EMG, two MRIs and an MRA, wouldn't you have some indication? A rheumatologist diagnosed bursitis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and carpal tunnel in January of 2003. At the time, my disability was minor and confined to my right hip. I am now barely able to walk at all, my shoulders still hurt and I still have pains just about everywhere. Do the above diagnoses still stand? Why is data from my physical therapy sessions being sent to a neurologist and not a rheumatologist? In January of 2002, I was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Is this related in any way to my current conditions? I have additional symptoms, burning sensation in both legs and more around the knees and a milder burning in the elbows. I don't think I have been experiencing these for more than a month. What condition would these pains be symptoms of? Given that I'm considered officially disabled, which level of disability am I assigned to? I write and edit professionally enough to make a full-time living, and I can understand all the terms related to my various conditions. That I simply wouldn't understand is therefore not a valid reason for withholding information. What would a valid reason be? I asked my Primary's office to send me my numbers from various blood tests and so forth. I received four badly printed pages with three or four of the numbers, all relating to cholesterol. Can I please have a more complete report?
Guest guest
In all, this sounds good to me. However " I write and edit professionally.... that I simply wouldn't understand ... " could be taken by a touchy MD as condescending and might put the god-like MD in a bad mood. If I were you, I would try to tone down the wording but stay firm. Remember the old adage: you catch more flies with honey... Take care. alblau999 <alblau999@...> wrote: Hi, I think I said this before, but I can't remember. Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for the input. I'll just eliminate that " professional writer " paragraph. As you can see, I am just a little annoyed. This neurologist is a bit touchy (dare I say nervy?). > Hi, > I think I said this before, but I can't remember.
