Maddie was newly 5 years old at the time. Anyway, I just wanted to > say a warm hello!! I hope I didn't miss any other newcomers. I called the cab company and told them > to make sure he picks her up, but he got there and forgot the car seat and > didn't have an aide.....I said NO WAY. So back out there I go again!!!! > Spent FOUR hours on the road yesterday!!!!! UGH!!! > Donna Hi ! Donna , Thanks for the warm welcome . I guess you could say , I just came out the closet . I've been a member , enjoying every post . My husband, Jim was surprised I've finally decided to write . He's been very supported in how much I've learned . He comes out with a smile when I have the school staff or physicians wanting information from me . So your cutie pie , Maddie . Is a star here in San , Tx ., as I distribute copies of the Disability Solutions Newsletters or just give them the e-mail address . I really have not introduced myself : I'm mom to 3 sons , my 23 yr. old living in Dallas , Tx. , 2 living at home . A 14 yr. old , which keeps me busy too , he's GT ( gifted & talented ) , you can imagine the mind challenges . I believe he inherited that from both his paternal and maternal grandmas . Then there's , he's 12 yrs. old , tall and slim but he actually has finally gained weight and I had to purchase a new wardrobe and that was all in a one months time . He's in middle school , he wears a school uniform and he enjoys that very much because eveyone are dressed like him . As I said before , Thanks to this DS/ASD list it has guided me in the right direction . 's behavior has improved , so now that has calm down ,we can work towards other areas . I've learned teaching self-help skills helps too . Enough of me , glad you were able to have a vacation and all went well . Gee ! Hats off, mom to 5 , I just told my mom " she had 7, & a medical career " makes me appreciate all she's done . I have 3 and that keeps me busy . Sorry you had to face reality again , but hopefully all will fall back to your normal arrangements . Take Care . Irma , 12 yrs. old DS/ASD .
