Guest guest
Will I always catch every germ that goes by? This is he second time in a month I " ve been sick and when I run a fever, it puts me down. Running a fever with RA multiplies the pain 3 times. I'm not on plaquenil right now because of reactions but my immunity is still so bad! Thanks for listening. I'm very frustrated right now! Guest guest
I can imagine you are. I can only tell you about myself. No, I don't catch everything under the sun, at least, so far. I do get flu shots every late fall. This helps me tremendously. If I get sick, it only last a couple of days, and a mild form of whatever I have. Take care. eandsspivey <ereese@...> wrote: Will I always catch every germ that goes by? This is he second time in a month I " ve been sick and when I run a fever, it puts me down. Guest guest
I don't know what I'm doing right/wrong, but I haven't had any colds or other viruses for a long time. Before we (Betty and I) quit smoking, I would get a bad summer cold almost every August or so. Now, the only thing I suffer is from the meds I take for RA. We've started taking vitaminsB,C,E and it seems to help both of us. Betty has worked in child care for a long time and has caught a few viruses but so far, I've avoided them. Maybe I'm just lucky. Guest guest
Hi, I catch a lot of bugs too, but I noticed that the grocery store can be a huge source of very bad germs. When I do go, I always use the antibacterial wipes to wipe down the cart handle before I even touch it and carry the Purell in my purse and use it after we come out of the store immediately. I avoid people that I hear coughing and sneezing and try to limit my contact with a lot of common surface areas like door handles, counters, etc. I hope this helps. My kids also help a lot by immediately coming home and going right to the bathroom to wash up. If someone was sick in their classroom, they even run and take a shower for me really quick before saying more than hi to me from a distance. I have great family support. Of course, I am on three immunosuppressants now, the Humira, MTX and Prednisone, so caution is probably an excellent idea. I also got a Pneumovax and had my flu shot which did seem to help. I have had one bout of bronchitis, a sinus infection, and one bad tooth pulled, but all and all pretty mild considering the potential for serious infection here. Good luck!
