$1.1 Million in Family Services Community Grants Awarded

Autism Speaks is thrilled to announce the 2011 Family Services Community Grants Recipients. Over $1.1 million was awarded to 27 organizations in the United States and 26 in Canada to fund programs for individuals with autism in the areas of Education, Recreation and Community Activities, and Young Adult and Adult Services. Autism Speaks has awarded its first Philip and Faith Geier Autism Research Grant in Environmental Sciences to epidemiologist M. e Fallin, Ph.D., of s Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, for her outstanding project on gene-environment interactions.

White House to Appoint Bell to Disabilities Panel

The White House has announced that it intends to appoint Bell executive vice president for programs and services at Autism Speaks, to President Obama's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.
