Terri,

My son Brook is 11. How old is Jordan? We have to wrap him in a papoose

board and he is basically terrified and hysterical the whole time his teeth

are being examined and cleaned. It takes the dentist, me and about 3 dental

assistants to hold him down. Our next appointment we are planning on giving

him versed so that he doesn't have to go through the trauma. It has not

improved, if anything it is worse now because he is so afraid of being

confined in the papoose. Of course if we don't do that we couldn't even look

in his mouth. I'm not really sure what your problem with the shoes is? Is he

afraid of new shoes?

Hi Marisa,

Jordan is 8 yrs old, and about the size of a 5 year old. Up till now, we

have been able to hold him. They have to put a bite block in his mouth. He

has broken the plastic mirrors, and even the stainless steel-he cracked the

mirror in that one. He has cracked 2 tongue depressors put together. I know

what you mean about the papose. We have to use that at the ear dr. I will

have to ask the dentist if they have one. I just hate the whole thing.

The shoes: He just dosn't want to change his old, comfy ones. He dosn't

seem scared of them.
