hi  Leah, the choices we need to make.  IMHO:  Ashton is such a people party person, that I believe she will probably be happy in a n ICFMR - if you have checked to see that  they indeed do have a 1:4 ration of staff and they do indeed have activities thru the day.

And you are close enough to keep frequent checks.  How does your famiy feel about this???  Will they support you by being part of the check on Ashton group?  she still could come home for visits and uyou can take her out.  But you would have an opportunity to breath a little.

You decide, but I back you.

Hello dear friends... Ashton had her surgery last week and is doing well... they removed some polyps... our next adventure is maybe another somnoplasty...she is gagging alot, vomiting more, and the breathing so we see the ENT surgeon next week... She is weak in many ways and I see the affects it has taken on her body, but I am HAPPY that she is here and every day is a new memory.....

Funny story: ashton, mawmaw and I go to walmart. i am in the baby food aisle getting babyfood for her meds, she is in her wheelchair with her basket looking at stuff. when we get home, my mom empties a walmart bag containing 1. 3 baby bottles. 2. a package of 6 newborn socks and 3. a set of pink pacifiers... I asked her what and who is was for? she state " baby ree " I said whose that she said " baby sister " .... ummmm can't be no baby coming from me loll.... mark and i have talked about adoption...hahahh maybe she's trying to speed us up lolol... gotta love that kid.... what will be next....

i am facing an issue and feel like I can share on here... ashton was only give 30 hours of personal care assistance from the state...she likes to go and do stuff... under this program they can't take her out of my home... so when i go back to work and am gone for ten hours a day, she is going to go nuts locked in a house all day with someone and can't go anywhere..... i also am going to have to hire someone to cover the additional hours out of my own pocket depending on what job i get and what my hours are...

second option is an icfmr www.homeofhope.com they are close to me, next town over and i have toured two of their group homes. i never thought i would be in this place but what choice do i have? no day programs here for her, no adult daycare, and i dont want her to be miserable crying at the door waiting for me or mark to get home.... i have talked to two of my sisterly souls on here and gotten guidance I am just very confused and overwhelmed... she is my baby girl and we have been through hell in the past two months.... i don't think i am ready to relinquish her to another home... but at the same time its going to cost a fortune to pay someone out of my pocket..... sighhhhhhhhhh

any input is greatly appreciated.. ps my interviewt today was good... i have anohter interview at freeman health next week and i hope that pans out and i have an interview on friday with the dept of health and homeland security partnership program..... thanks for all the prayers..... love to all..........make every moment of your life count....

Hi Leah, Its a hard decision to make. One i know you wish you didnt have to do.

Just gotta go with what you think will be best for her. And if they have

activities thru the day she might like that and interacting with other people.
