Guest guest
Hi ! My is 10 years old and we have been doing an ABA program for the past year. She was mostly nonverbal when starting, but her vocabulary has increased dramatically - we have kept track of how many words she has said or tried to say this past year and have charted approx. 100 words! Although she doesn't consistently use them and most people wouldn't understand what she is saying (we know through context what she is trying to say), I am happy with that and we keep working on refining her pronunciations. We start with a few words at a time and have chosen words of things she likes (motivating reinforcers) like movie, music, etc. using the Kaufman Program noun cards. http://www.northernspeech.com/product/1000190/Apraxia_CAS__Articulation__Motor_Speech/1000467/K__and_amp_K_Sign_to_Talk_NOUNS/ Best wishes, Heidi
