✟ JMJ ✟

I have a friend who does this diet. I considered it for my son and possibly for my daughter. It seemed difficult and smelly (LOL, at least when I sat next to her at lunchtime....the food not the person).

BUT, she says she has not only lost weight, which was not the intention but a nice outcome, but feels so much better on the diet. She had some intestinal issues and bloating that the GAP diet cleared up. The issue that I had with trying it was that I had tried so many things before and the outcome never worked. The GAPS diet, from what I understand needs a good 12 month try to determine if it works. I need to look into it more before committing to that kind of time constraint. Plus the foods did ot seem like something I could get my daughter to eat.

Blessings,

GAPS diet by Dr. Natasha -McBride

Has anyone heard of this diet?

We will be starting this diet soon. It is based on SCD diet with bone broths

and fermenteds. It is supposed to seal up the gut lining and help with food

sensitivities. A good book to read to get a streamlined version and a lot of

" hand holding " , lol, is the GAPS Guide. It tells you how to ease into it. But

I know a lot of people have great results on it as far as healing for their kids

is concerned. And if it helps with the Autistic symptoms, that is the cherry on

the top. It is very nutrient dense and that is something our kiddos need

desperately. Also, there is a GAPS helps yahoo group and some in there can tell

you how they got their kids to eat the foods that their kids " would never eat. "

My autie is going to be the easy one. It's the picky neurotypical one who is

going to be hell to work with, lol!

in that aspect of things..I know it is very difficult when a child is used to

eating certain foods for them to be given a new diet...it is a lot of hard

work....I do the things I do with Wesley bec I have no alternative....if I don't

he will be unwell........

Hi ,   My son started this diet 3 days ago (we are on the GAPS intro now). So far, esp since it has been a jump from being a vegetarian diet to this one, it is stressful, but he is eating everything. Please keep us posted if you see any improvements.
