We have started a petition to amend The Public Health Service Act and be a rider

to the Prenatally and Postnatally Diagnosed Conditions Awareness Act, which

mandates that accurate, scientifically-sound information and support services be

provided about prenatally or postnatally diagnosed conditions. Without mandating

a minimum of 500 cell counts, rather than the standard 20 cell counts commonly

performed, mosaicism for chromosomal conditions cannot be ruled out. When 500

cells are examined, mosaicism can be confirmed or excluded with 99% confidence.

Even though, the many various types of Down Syndrome have similarities, they

have different names because there are distinct differences among them. There

are 4 main types of Down syndrome, but so many other types as well.

As a member of a Down Syndrome Community, we hope that you will take a few

moments to sign the petition and show your support.
