Guest guest
We took Aden to the endocrinologist last Monday (right before we left for vacation). She said that in boys puberty before the age of 10 should definitely be investigated. One of the main problems is that a child who starts puberty too early will stop growing too soon. Another is that the brain is not ready for the testosterone surge and it can cause exaggerated behavior problems (just what we needed). Anyway we went in for X-rays and blood work. We have to rule out some pretty rare (but scary) stuff. If it is just early, and not the result of a tumor or something else, then we start treatment. Luckily the treatment is really easy. It's an implant that goes in the arm, kinda like birth control but way smaller. So fingers crossed in a few weeks we should have a reprieve from the " teen crankies " we've been experiencing.
