Guest guest
Hello,I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself. My name is and I am married to Ron and we have 2 beautiful boys - Blake (11) and (4). Both of our boys face challenges - Blake has DS and many characteristics of autism (I think he may have hyperlexia). Sammy has Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. We are in the process of getting Blake neuro-psychological testing to get more info. re: his behaviors - he is highly echolalic, has poor eye contact, spins, flaps, has rages at times, has a history of self-injurious behavior, has repetitive movements, learned to read at the age of 3, has an incredible memory and is quite bright considering his DS diagnosis. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. We live in Michigan. Thank you very much! S.

Guest guest
Hi . My name is and I have a 20-year-old-son, , DS, ASD, ADHD, Epilepsy, and numerous other health problems. We just brought him home in November after being at a private school (Devereux in West Chester, PA) since 2007. He had become uncontrollable, would not go to school and became aggressive. Since he has been home, we have had our ups and downs, but I am and so is he, very happy that he has made the transition and is back home and in school. Sometimes what I get upset about is the fact that I know he will never have the "normal" life of a teenager. The sleepovers, going to college, driving (maybe that is a blessing!) and just hanging out. He had been in Special Olympics, but does not seem to find interest and keep it in anything.Welcome to our group and I hope it is of help to you! My 12-year-old has DS, autism, is a leukemia survivor, has a primary immune deficiency, malabsorption/failure to thrive, depression and anxiety, ADD, OCD. He is also our joy and challenge. Cute, fun, small, mostly nonverbal and loving. Welcome!Beth from IndianaSent from my iPhone Hi ,Welcome to the group. I'm , hubby and I also have 2 boys. Aden 8 who has DS ASD ADHD and Aren 5 who has ADHD. We live in northern Nevada. The thing I love about this group is that no matter what is going on with my boys there is always someone here who has been there done that. Even the really "weird" stuff from reflux causing hiccups to unlisted meds side effects. So please ask any questions you may have. I frequently get answers (and right ones) faster here than anywhere else. WelcomeSent from my iPod Hello,I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself.
