Guest guest
I haven't read of anyone else whose child groans as a stim. My son does. And he has an extremely deep voice too. Now that he is older, people comment about his deep voice, assuming it has to do with being past puberty. But that's not the issue. He has always had a deep guttural voice; it is just that he manages to get out a bit more vocalization now than he did when he was younger, and people now sometimes notice that he actually does have a voice. Is your daughter verbal? My son mostly is not although he is echolalic, but, since he has such severe apraxia, his ability to echo is quite limited. And she has an extremely deep voice so it comes out sounding not at all nice.
