We all have HCV or that of a loved one. We must not be or live in fear of learning about all the possible stages and yes including cirrhosis stages and end stage liver disease. It can save a persons life your life or of a loved one or greatly enrich

quality of lives for the better.

You think cirrhosis stages can not happen to you ???? HCV is called The Silent Epidemic or Silent Killer for those same reasons and for proper diagnosis or

symptoms not appearing for decades even into cirrhosis stages for some people until it is too late for them.

Honey yes you are reading it correctly but HCV liver disease is an individual disease with each person progressing on a different timetable or not. The natural disease progression is inflammation to fibrosis to cirrhosis to end stage liver disease liver cancer for some people. It is called The Silent Epidemic because symptoms for some may not appear for decades some not until into cirrhosis stages not knowing they have it with some people with serious complications in earlier stages. Compensated cirrhosis liver is still somewhat functioning may be for a few years for some longer for others than into decompensated cirrhosis liver can not compensate anymore too much damage into liver failure end stage. There is a long list of related serious

complications dx's in cirrhosis stages some manageable over time used to better judge a pt's timetable prognosis from compensated to decompensated end stage by which complications how severe and total health of the individual since HCV liver disease is a total body disease.

Many serious chronic diseases illnesses are on a 0 to 4 medical grading scale just like HCV liver disease and coordinated also 0 to 4 by liver bx other findings tests. For

HCV Stage is the amount degree of Scaring Fibrosis with 4 Cirrhosis with Grade the amount of Inflammation that is part of the progression stages 0 to 4 before progressing in stages.

Compensated Cirrhosis of the liver into ESLD end stage liver disease compensated to decompensated end stage liver failure has 2 different types - Acute Liver Failure can develop very rapidly and from with other combined sources - Chronic Liver Failure a slow process 5 to 10 years or more for some people.

It is for these 2 reasons different types forms of liver failure 1 can be very rapid the other not from HCV liver disease we must be monitored under the very watchful care of very experienced Gastro/Hepatologist than Transplant team and a full consulting team of experienced Physicians continuous constant evaluations full consulting medical management teams treatments of symptoms and for liver transplant. The processes ready in place or ongoing when needed with or without advanced medical warnings.

Stage 4 grade 3 compensated is very close to grade 4 decompensated liver disease.

Yes HCV treatment can offer some benefits at this stage/grade is a very tough fight because of the degree of cirrhosis liver cell damage liver failing related serious medical complications and it can also throw a person from compensated to decompensated liver failure and needing a liver transplant.

You must be very aware of this about cirrhosis stages how treatment can affect you and have an experienced full team of specialists ready to handle it all at any moment.

For you best outcomes this is the time you Must ask these very tough questions of your treating Physicians their medical accredited expertise and know where you stand how experienced they are and how ready to handle all medical care if a transplant and for all medical emergencies including a full service high rated trauma hospital emergency room has full service HCV cirrhosis liver failure and transplant staff units ratings. Not all hospitals just like doctors are full service full medical ratings or experienced to handle it and if not they arrange for higher medical care transport even air flight to a higher ranking facility ready and willing to accept the patient.

Yes cirrhosis is very serious life threatening once started is progressive at different timetables and must be taken very seriously for a persons best outcomes and life. Best quality of life in cirrhosis stages even in liver failure is best managed for the person by a full team of highly experienced medical trained staffs handling all a persons needs and medical care.

In cirrhosis stages and in end stage we must not allow ourselves to become completely overwhelmed by it continue to live our lives to it's max educate ourselves learn how to better handle and manage it and our lives the best ways possible for each one of us.

There are 2 options - accept it learn from it and learn to appreciate life every day every second in it in relationships to it's best fullest make the very best of it or not.

We never accept or realize how short our lives can be until we are faced with it and hopefully we learn to live it fully and not have regrets about it or from it.

On any day a person can go outside and get flattened by a bus or a crazy red head in a little black sports car.

There are no guarantees in life.

Life is what we choose to make of it. Life is memories good or bad and our memories we leave behind.

Hoping everyone makes very good memories to last many generations to come.

All the Best To Everyone.

Deb

Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me the meaning of the stagesand grades of cirrhosis of the liver. I was recently diagnosed asstage 4, grade 3, compensated. I was so upset when my gastro guy toldme that my hep c has caused me to have this liver desease, that Icould not even ask him that. So I have been looking around online andam I correct that this is the last stage and if I decompinsate thenI'm in ESLD. Am I reading this thing right? I also read that if thetreatment does not work and I decompesate, then I would be a grade 4and have to go on a liver transplant list? This is scary for me and Iwould appriecate the information if anyone out there knows this. Ireliaze only god knows for sure how long one has here on earth and Iam optimistic that my treatment will work for me, I have a wonderfulsuportive husband and family. I am blessed and I remain very

positiveon this but, also want to be prepared in case it is my time to leavethis world. I am not afraid to die, I think of heaven as,all of ourhomes and we all will live there one day. I am scared to leave myfamily here and sadened by that, and being sick and the dying part, but I am not scared to go to the light. I just have some things I wantto take care of before I go.
