Hi Jabi,

We got our first vocalisations and the start of early words when our son

did AIT (approx age 3), he'd also been hypersensitive to certain sounds

(making him cry inconsolably). This also stopped when we did AIT.

Now he is non-verbal, lost all speech and sounds but this is with onset

of seizures.

p.s. great to see you on ABE!!

My son had AIT 2 weeks ago for 10 days, I had seen some social and cognitive improvements, but noises in the school still bothers him . I was told it takes 6 to 9 months to see the improvements...its expensive but worth a try. From: "Mum231ASD@..."

Hi Jabi

We got the listening programme via our OT, she said that facial tics might be a

possible side effect which my son did develop, although this might have been

coincidental as his school was quite stressful at the time.

Fortunately he no longer has facial tics but we did stop the programme, we may

revisit it at some stage.

In my experience it took 6-8 weeks to show the FULL benefit, hang in there
