Guest guest
Anita/Mandi What should be done if a child could only have chelation in the school holidays?. Mandi reminded us about the cascade that gets going once chelation has been started that could you leave you even worse off if chelation with proper support isn't kept up for any reason. Once you've had the first dose is that, well, it and you just have to keep going? (Is the cascade one of the reasons a challenge dose is so dangerous?) Or is it safe to start and then to stop if, for example, the parent can't keep it up? Thanks, Margaret > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Having trouble trying to engage in anything not of his choosing. He doesn't actually choose to do anything anymore! Guest guest
I be inclined to say not to start - is he going weekly now? Every other weekend would be fine if he's with his day that often but months in between better to start with zeolites which may do summat, they helped here but no idea if that was with metals, it was more than ammonia mop up for sure Mx Anita/MandiWhat should be done if a child could only have chelation in the school holidays?. Guest guest
If you know mercury is an issue, then you'd want to be very aware of what you're getting started. I can't remember how the holidays work in the UK anymore, but what I might be inclined to do is start near the beginning of the longest one and chelate as much as possible during that time. Maybe using dmps during that time would make a lot of chelation possible (easier dosing schedule). You have to keep supplements in mind--I wouldn't start chelation until the child had been on supps for a week (this would be bare minimum under trying circumstances--more like two weeks is better). If you do see him weekends, then I would get started and do your best to have him taking a decent multi during the week. An rx would make that possible. You don't want to postpone indefinitely, but you also don't want to make things much more difficult. There is likely not going to be a perfect solution.
