Guest guest
Mandi,I was looking into rashes recently. I haven't got the orginal studies but I made a mental note about chicken pox rashes and that is, if you are referring to blister type, these may actually be due to gluten reaction. I can't remember where I saw it unfortunately.Jx To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Saturday, 14 April 2012, 20:48 Subject: Re: Autonomic Test Results - Help please Thanksyou Mx cardiac vagal tone To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Saturday, 14 April 2012, 20:19Subject: Autonomic Test Results - Help please We knew at the time his transcutaneous oxygen was low but significantly better than most kids at 37% which both me and DG put down to TST His letter says markedly variable CVT - what is that? Guest guest
I have it written down somewhere as we had a phone consult with Dr Julu. Do you want me to look it up? (I can quite easily) Sara x

Guest guest
Hi , actually my notes are not that good. It stands for abnormal spontaneous brainstem activation and it refers to the brain not controlling the blood pressure well (I think it was specifically blood pressure but it might have been other areas too. can anyone else comment? ) because the brainstem is irritated. The brainstem should be controlling the blood pressure according to level of activity etc and should move it slowly from one state to another. ASBAs mean it's not moving slowly but with sudden jerks and the result is a child who appears to over-react to everything or go from happy to 'end of the world' immediately (this REALLy describes Tom well). It can be caused by 3 things but only 2 in our kids: 1. (not seen in autism) immature brain 2. allergies in the brain 3. fighting an infection (in the brain I believe). Hope that helps. My son's are frequent too. Our appt with Dr Goyal is this Tues. Sara x
