Guest guest
Hi Dew, A rice sock is made from an old athletic or other big sock. I used one of my husband calf high socks he didn't want anymore. Put regular rice, not instant, in the sock to fill it but allow it to be pliable.. To a strong know it the end of the sock. If the sock is too full of rice it may not mold to your body. Microwave 2-3 minutes to a desired heat. hugs, Debbie L -- In , " Pacific NW Dew " <dewdrop_mealine@...> wrote: > > Hi Debbie L. > > What is a rice sock? > > Dew >
Guest guest
I know this is a dumb question but do you use a rice sock like a heating pad? Guest guest
Hi Joyce, Not a dumb question at all. Rice socks are mini heating pads/wraps. I use mine for my shoulder pain. It sits well on top of my shoulder. Sometimes I put it behind my low back. But I don't sit on it. I use a heating pad for my bottom pain. Guest guest
Hi Joyce, Glad to be of help. I learned about rice socks several years ago after I found out I have fibro. The site posted is very helpful. It is similar to what I told Dew. Debbie L -- In , " Joyce McCrary " <j.mccrary@...> wrote: > > Thank you Debbie. Guest guest
Hi Dew, I have used the same rice sock for over 10 years. It has regular rice in it that doesn't spoil. My sock doesn't stink, but still smells like rice. I tied the end of my sock to keep the rice in. Or you can use string to close the sock. You don't need to sew it closed. Did you check the site that posted about rice socks? It's helpful. I use my somtimes, maybe every few days or less. The pain patches I use are more mobile. The rice sock comes in handy here when I sit at the computer or sit in my recliner to read. I store my sock in a linen closet with my heating pads. hth, Debbie L > > Hey Debbie L. > > How long will the rice socks last? Does the rice spoil? > I know I couldn't wash them.
