Hi Louise,

I don't think anyone can know that the sustained release will keep blood levels

constant, and even if they did, if you believe your child is hg toxic, you

wouldn't want to chelate all the time. There are reasons a person needs

breaks. Yeast would be one example of those reasons.

As for CoQ10, it is best to get ubiquinol as at least some of our kids won't

convert the ubiquinone (which is what it is if the bottle just says CoQ10).

sustained product by Jarrow or BC. Anyone have any experience with this. We are

on round 25 at the moment once a week for about 72 hours and have huge yeast

issues.

have you put in place a yeast protocol ? dr goyal can give you diflucan,

otherwize you can use gse and no fenol available from mandimart..? just a

thought? we had major yeast but nipped it in the bud with diflucan, he will give

it if you ask? ps. have you looked at the andy cutler file on this forum [think

there is a file, ask mandi] this might help you with dosages.... although dan

doctors and andi slightly differ it might help with your final decision on how

much to give, there is a great supplement we use coq10 and carnitine by patrick

holdford [biocare range] and mandi sells am amino acid tub which we found useful

as an all rounder, Isobel

I'm not sure anyone is sure that the time release stuff really is time release

as we expect it. Which is a pain in the neck for giving ALA but you might be

better sticking with 3 hourly. If you've come so far (72 rounds, I salute

you!!) it would be a crying shame to upset things if the time release gets

released too quickly. I'm scared witless at the prospect of ALA, even though I

know it's something that Tom needs.

This is dangerous, I will forward Andy explanation of why sustained release DOES NOT WORK.

What are you using for yeast protocol on an ongoing basis and what do you do for a flare up?

If you give sustained ALA you still have to give it every 3 hours NOT 6-8 hours

as apparently the absorption is about the same as normal ALA and definitely

don't give constantly, breaks are needed.
