Guest guest
Hi all, Just saw our doctor in Canada (Dr Gannage) after 6 months on Specific Carbohydrate diet. Absolutely no change in Organic Acid results at all, neither in Live blood cell Analysis (which is this doctor's strong point). Still really bad dysbiosis, including C difficile. So...has anyone else found SCD just didn't get rid of bad bacteria? The doc's conclusion is that my son Elliot's high lead burden is going to have to be dealt with first...anyone know why that might be...eg immune system needs to work too? I thought we were starving the bad guys! It was a hard diet. Also Elliot's been on Culturelle or Theralac probiotics all the while, and for the last 3 months Nystatin to kill the fungi. I put off chelation for YEARS because everyone said you've got to get the gut straightened out first. Irony of ironies! We are now moving to a LOW-carb diet, continuing Nystatin for 2 more months, and chelating 3 on 11 off. Keeping up probiotics, but get this, the doc suggested (really as a side issue): Maybe try the morning probiotic with no enzymes at breakfast time. Anyone think they might affect probiotics? I haven't ever found any good guidance as to the best time of day to give probiotics. 5 years of biomed and he still doesn't have lactobacillus established. I have not even had any particular clinical encouragement since we started the GF/CF diet back then...tell me I'm alone!! Perhaps it also speaks volumes that I've gone to Canada to get a practitioner to guide me through this. Any help or encouragement gratefully received.
