Guest guest
Thanks, Anita, he doesn't show any symptoms of digestive difficulties, his reflux is gone and his digestion is very good. But I will keep this in mind as something to consider if this problem persists, I may try some hcl if we cannot get this under control. Thanks, Sandy, we have all been treated but I did not do the second round on us adults - with 2 tutors, 2 parents and a " stand-by " tutor, it makes 6 of us that I have to treat! Everyone was treated yesterday and I'm going to make sure that we are all treated again in 2 weeks. We don't have any pets. I am going to take him to the doctor, it is possible that the Ovex is not treating the kind of parasite that he has or something like that although I do think that they go away when I dose him, they just seem to come back pretty quickly. Also I will follow the doctor's advice re routine dosing of the Ovex. I did read that these parasites can cause anaemia which he already has problems with because he regularly has GI bleeding. I do dose him on Spatone but he certainly doesn't need any compounding factors to the anaemia. I will look into getting the natural remedies into his food - anything that could help. Keep us posted on your progress on this very annoying issue. Thanks,Darla Dear Darla, Hope things improve. Not sure I have any answers but I've been thinking about parasites for a while now. Have you treated the family? You could be passing between yourselves. Do you have pets - have you treated them? (so many of us seem to have pets with " character " or behaviours). Have you tested for parasites generally (are there other worms/parasites) - I have been reading that there can be several types and (if I understand correctly) this can make treatment harder. This is something I am wondering about myself. Best wishes, Sandy > > > > just keeps getting threadworms. Guest guest
Sorry for coming on top....Darla, Do NOT add in iron. Candida and parasites love it and what is left over works often as a pro-oxidant, It feeds cancer cells, not that you have to be worried about that but just saying generally the effect iron supplements have. The body tries to store iron as much as possible because when it is free it damages. Keep working on getting the systemic inflammation reduced. When the bowel is inflamed, it won't allow iron to cross the gut wall. Guest guest
Sorry, can't help you with that at the moment. I'll look it up when I have a moment. Guest guest
Thanks, , I wouldn't be adding in iron - I already have to dose it intermittently depending on how much GI bleeding he is having. He is able absorb the iron because the pale skin, lethargy and crankiness do resolve with dosing - we are very fortunate in this respect because I know that for some kids it's very difficult to get any iron that is effective in increasing blood levels. hasn't ever had candida issues nor does he have GI inflammation - he's had endoscopy, colonoscopies and GI tissue samples, none of which show any inflammation - I've even seen the pictures of his bowel wall and it is smooth and nicely pink and his blood markers do not show inflammation. The GI bleeding is a mechanical issue that ocurs because he has GI polyps - they get " knocked " by digestive processes and bleed. He'll be having a polypectomy in the next few months so the bleeding will stop. I am, however, concerned that the iron fuels the parasites but he is presenting with some iron deficient symptoms right now and in balance I think it is better to keep him topped up with the iron because he feels so crap without it, it's a difficult call. I hope that the GP will be able to help get the proper diagnosis for the parasites and that may help to get it under control. Given his GI polyps, cancer is a concern (particularly when the polyps are clustered which so far, they have not been) - can you clarify, I don't understand, is the Fe carcinogenic or are you saying something else? Is this risk peculiar to any particular type of cancer? Sorry, I know you are busy and may not be able to answer, no worries if not. Guest guest
Margaret - (yuck warning ahead....)Once they get bad enough you can see the worms - they do look like very fine cotton threads and they cause extreme itching. I just thought that they may not be threadworms, they may be some other kind of worm. I really hope that the GP has some direction to give us. Yes, Darla, Ovex is only for worms - it's not marketed as a treatment for protozoan parasites such as Giardia and Dientomoeba. Margaret > > > > > > > > just keeps getting threadworms. Guest guest
we use diatomaceous earth - human grade - 1 tbs-ish twice a day - can be mixed in water or juice etc, it is tasteless but gritty, or in jam on a rice cake. See link below for infohttp://diatomx.co.uk/epages/eshop439661.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop439661/Categories/FAQ/Human_Use From: za To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Thursday, 24 May 2012, 10:29 Subject: Re: Threadworm - Recurring hope you get some solutions here soon, in the meantime, when ours have been out of control, i put garlic cloves up the bum before bed (you need KY jelly or similar) to relieve night time itching, it blasts them straight away. that will take care of buggers in lower tract. karenza > > > > > > > > just keeps getting threadworms. Guest guest
That is so interesting about using garlic because I read somewhere that enemas are really good for bacteria, bugs in the bug. I need to check again about the different things that they recommend. hope you get some solutions here soon, in the meantime, when ours have been out of control, i put garlic cloves up the bum before bed (you need KY jelly or similar) to relieve night time itching, it blasts them straight away. that will take care of buggers in lower tract. karenza > > > > > > > > just keeps getting threadworms.
