Hi SandyWe've used the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for parasite testing in the past. Their test is quite reliable because they use fixed samples (i e with preservative). Their specialism is the detection of B Hominis and D Fragilis, although they test for other parasites as well. When we did the test, it cost £55 - don't know whether it's gone up since then. We always had negative stool tests but a positive DNA test (this was a while back - it didn't name any species). Recently we took Ovex and we've seen some subtle improvements (eg improved food tolerance) - it may be a coincidence but it has given us something to think about.> > Does anyone know of a good parasite test? oh sorry, forgot to mention, the drawback is that the testing has to be done via a doctor - they won't issue results directly to patients. We got our GP on board - we paid for the tests, but she was happy to receive and pass on the results.Joanne> >> > Hi all,> >> > I've been thinking about parasites (again). Joanne,

Do you know if they test for Giardia as well, please? - think it's time Henry

had another test. On a previous one he had Giardia, D.frag. and Blasto.

Hi Sandy,

We are going to see a paediatrician who specialises in parasites in Warsaw. He

supposed to be very good, not sure if he speaks English but I am going to call

him this week and I will ask him. This is his letter about parasites:

I am glad someone is shedding a huge spotlight on parasites! To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe Sent: Wednesday, 23 May 2012, 19:48 Subject: Re: A good test/specialist for parasites?

I'm pretty sure they do, Margaret, but it's probably best if you phone them and ask them, as it's a while since I did the testing. I always found them very helpful over the phone (number is on the link I sent).Joanne> > > >> > > > Hi all,> > > >> > > > I've been thinking about parasites (again). Dear Joanne and Kasia,

Thanks so much for your replies. I'm really interested in the test Joanne - I'm

wondering who we could see to order one for all of us. Our GPs are usually

super but I am wondering now if we could see someone that might know more about

the test/results?

Kasia - your doctor in Warsaw sounds great (what he says re. pets is very good

also). Would be interested to know how you get along. Hope it goes really

well.

Best wishes,

Sandy

Well, there's Dr Econs at

http://allergymedicaluk.com/ - I know he uses them for parasite testing, but he's expensive, and I'm not sure you really need anyone to interpret the results. They just say which parasites have been detected. Maybe the best thing would be to have the testing done via your GP, then decide if you want any follow-up with anyone based on the results?Joanne>> Dear Joanne and Kasia,> > Thanks so much for your replies.
