Guest guest
Dear Kam, I E-mailed Edie personally last week to check in on her. She's doing well, got moved, is still swimming, is on one painkiller at night, and thinks she may get more than a year from her Lami/decom, she's at the six month mark. She has been lurking since she felt she didn't get a lot of answers to her posts. She also pointed out her life got busy with the move and work. She says she chime in soon for an update. She goes soon for a bone scan. There's my Edie update! Colorado Springs [ ] quick update > Hi everybody. > > I have been struggling the last week or so. Guest guest
Saw my rheumy yesterday. She up'd my MTX and added prednisone again along with the Humira. Hopefully this will work, if not i will switch to Enbrel... after that remicade.... Orencia was mentioned and another new med but i cant remember the name. No meds for the depression yet, waiting to see how this change effects me. Going to update her in 3 weeks and we'll go from there. Said tylenol PM was ok for nights when i ache... whatever. I wasnt too impressed on how the appt went, but its progress. ok just updating you all hugs from PA
Guest guest
Hi : How much did she increase the Mtx, and what dose of Prednisone? I am hoping that these two things alone will help you. The other medication she probably mentione was Rutoxin (spelling?)which is also a new biologic that is infusion-based. I would suggest, if the Humira does not work, that you try Enbrel, which is also injected at home. I have been on it about 5 months now, with good results, in addition to Mtx. Best of luck - Kathe in CA Hi Kathe, She increased the mtx from 10mg to 15mg a week and the prednisone from 7.5mg to 15mg daily. :-P yuk. Enbrel is next up if this dosent work. Seems to be, if i can remember to take the Pred at night lol. Trying not to overdo it when i do have good days or i'll be back at square one. She is not one to prescribe pain meds that easily so i'm using tylenol PM at night tilll the prednisone kicks in. Hoping this all works out so i wont need depression meds...keep your fingers crossed for me! At this last appointment, i think i kind of got thru to her that i need more than just scripts written out and a return appt scheduled. Hey its progress...lol. Ok time to get off of here and make lunch. hugs talk soon from PA

Guest guest
Well it at least sounds like the rheumy is trying. Hang in there. Do you know if you talk to the rheumy or your primary doc about the tylenol pm and anti-depressent? I'm curious? I finally get to see a new rheumy and I don't know if I tell him or my reg. so-called doc or both? I know that they some some depressents work for pain. I am already on anti-depressents. I haven't noticed any change other than less stress does help! It seemed like at times I would have stress induced flares. I hope that they can come up with something that will help you sleep and get the recoupertive (however You spell it?) rest that you most likely require. I know that not sleeping well for me is a bummer to say the least and then the little naps, breaks, don't seem to help any at that point either, it is like a vicious cycle. Keep us posted on how the new dosage works for you and if they get around to addressing your sleep issue and depreesion? When is your next appt.? Soon I hope! Hang in there and take care. XXX's Kim Hi Kim, I would mention it to your Rheumy since you are already on anti-depressants. Maybe he/she can switch you to something better since you arent seeing much difference. I know all too well about stress induced flares lol So far the new adjustment seems to be working so far. I need to call my rheumy in a couple weeks to update her and schedule my next appointment. Hopefully the depression is from the meds not doing their job... i'll keep yall updated of course hugs from PA
Guest guest
Aleve is naprosyn but maybe he is giving you a different dose. i took that for awhile and it made me sick but that was many years ago. ask about Tramadol, it is mild, very few side effects but very effective for moderate pain. Carlene in MT Quick Update Hey everyone - I just sent out an email a few days ago about being on Ibuprofrin which hasn't been helping the inflammation I have in my lumbar area right now. My doctor's office called me back and said they were going to put me on Naprosin now. Anyone have any luck with this? He didn't want to put me on anything too strong since I'm not as bad right now as when I first came to see him a few years ago. It is a much stronger form of Aleve and is taken on a very strict schedule.
