Guest guest
ESLD next stage liver failure=Death if I do not get a new liver. However there are a few people on line that have lived 10 healthy years and still going with ESLD. I was way way too far gone to even think about it. I have many complications besides brain farts and fatigue. Shoot I lived for years tired all the time but was otherwise very healthy as in hardly ever sick. Treatment is part of the process to get a new liver if you survive treatment and a liver is available when you need it Then there is the possibility I could actually reach sustained virological response (SVR) and work on healing my liver. So many variables so many choices and so far I have made the correct one BUT its only been 3 months on treatment. I don't know how old you are but the Hep C is most definitely eating away at your liver. If you remember that game many years ago called PacMan its what I think of the HepC as doing to my liver. Just chomp chomp chomping away until there is nothing left. How well you take care of your liver can slow it down in some cases but no one knows for sure why some can go years without treatment and have little damage where others like me the virus goes nuts on it. I have had it probably since I was either 18 or 21 and I am 54 now so didn't do too bad. I did live a drug and alcohol free life but smoked for 40 years. I was always athletic which I think helped. Then in December of 2007 I literally crawled into the house after work one day my legs were so bloated I thought they would burst. People kept asking me if I was pregnant my stomach was so bloated. It was not until then that FINALLY a APRN caught and tested me for HepC. I had no symptoms until then and my liver enzymes were fine on my yearly exams. If anyone does not understand why I have this Total disgust and mistrust of the traditional medical system this would be one of the reasons. > > > > > > > > > > Just another Dragon Fighter now > > ESLD w/complications > > Geno 3a > > viral load <10 which is a big fat ZERO > > > > --- > > > > > >
Guest guest
I'm always so saddened to hear of so many who are so ill and yes am SCARED as well. I too am 54 and was probably 21 when I contracted it. I don't trust the medical community much for many different reasons but boy do you ever have GOOD CAUSE. I certainly wish you the best...Debbie2 > > ESLD next stage liver failure=Death if I do not get a new liver. > However there are a few people on line that have lived 10 healthy > years and still going with ESLD.
