Guest guest
Once your on treatment viral load is VERY important. It determines if the Treatment is working and also how long you need to be on treatment. This 1a 2b stuff is just BS to get you on it. I was all set to do my 6 months because I am a 3a genotype which means IF I have a zero viral load <10 undetectable, I only had to do 6 months. I did not reach undetactable until week 5 so it added another month for a total of 7 monts of Tx. Well low and behold since I am doing so well with bloodwork and side effects they now want me to do it for a YEAR!!!!!! Ack I was pissed and said we will talk about it in another 5 months. I am end stage liver disease so I did not need a biopsy. The CT Scan picture of my liver which they said was decompensated plus the various side effects from ESLD told the whole story so no biopsy was needed. How come your not a candidate? Thats what they told me too but I did pre-qualify for a liver transplant....just in case and I eventually got the medication Hi, I'm new to the group so I hope I'm doing this right but from everything I've read a person's viral load # is not a good indicator of the condition of the liver. May I ask if you've had a liver biopsy? I have not and probably never will as I am not a candidate for treatment. DM > > > > I went to Mayo Clinic 11/17 and they did a viral load test.
