Guest guest
Harry has been tested at school before he broke up for Easter and again this morning and both times he has had protein in his urine. We have been giving him paracetamol over the weekend and today. I posted earlier as the nurse at school that I spoke to this am felt that he needed antibiotics so I contacted my doctor and took another urine sample round this eve only to be phoned an hr ago to be told its completely clear. I don't know if this is because its an eve sample or he has drunk 2 litres of water today but I am concerned as this protein has been hanging round a while now and keeps coming back when we think It's gone. He keeps "flushing" up and getting angry and I can't keep up with his obsessional behaviors for much longer!! I know anger is bacteria. I have got two kib 500,s and I am wondering if this will kill off any bacteria hanging around in his kidneys or if I take him to the doctors for a check over and maybe antibiotics??It's so hard as he is non verbal and can't say where it hurts. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Kerryx Sent from Yahoo! School nurse dip tested this am and he has protein in his urine and thinks he needs antibiotics. He has had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin in the past. Just posting to see if anyone knows of a good antibiotic that I can ask my doctor to prescribe that will do the least damage with his yeast? He is on 2caps of custom at night and 2caps of saccharomyces boulardii and biocare infantis powder probiitic in the morning. I guess whilst on antibiotics I will need to up probiotics, anyone know by how much?? I am not looking forward to him having antibiotics as the last time he had them he was really ill after, they flattened his immune system but I can't let him suffer, he keeps flushing up and getting angry. She's quite traumatised by it.Please can someone suggest a natural remedy to expedite the healing process. I was thinking arnica cream might be effective.Thanks.Zahra
Guest guest
Hi Kerry, My son suffered " chronic " urine infection for a whole year (yes, quite unbelievable)!!! He had constant protein in his urine as I dip sticked couple times a week but he also had blood in it from time to time as well as nitrites and leukocytes on the urine dip stick. My son too is non-verbal and it was the strong ammonia smell and the blood that indicated what was going on. With numerous urine tests by the GP, antibiotics did not seem to touch the infection and constantly came back positive for a " proteus mirabilis " infection (which after research I gathered is one of the most difficult uti infections to treat). We eventually stopped all antibiotics and went for Kib500 (think gave him 3-4 doses) and this blasted it completely. This was our experience and it was over a long period, it may be the antibiotics work for your son, but just wanted to say that I know that Kib500 worked for us where various antibiotics had failed! Also do you have any urine dip sticks at home, as this helps to monitor what is going on. Good luck in clearing it. emily > > Harry has been tested at school before he broke up for Easter and again this morning and both times he has had protein in his urine.
