Well, this article is 6 years old, so it seems they can to some degree, that's

for sure.

What is working in our 'favour' is that so many kids are suffering.

What doesn't work in our favour is that unhealthy is the new norm. People are

very quick in wanting to accept that we've always had this many kids with

autism, ADHD, allergies, asthma, OCD, Tourettes, fibromyalgia, learning

disabilities, communication disorders, etc etc.

So, when kids left and right are receiving diagnoses people somehow manage to

convince themselves, 'yeah, that seems about right'.

When I speak to people about any of this, that is the message I always try to

make most clear. These rates are not normal, they are not better diagnosis.

DH and I were trying to find, among our acquaintances, one family who had only

healthy children. We couldn't think of a single one. Put like that, most

people start to think maybe that isn't the way it ought to be.
