Guest guest
I would. I know I tried to go back to work..as a trial thing when i went out on disability. i went to work for Sprint as a technician. Every one came to work with fever, flu or whatever. I lasted one month before i was out with the flu. i had the flu two times in a row. it was the most horrible three months!!! It is also very difficult to do this when co-workers come to work with flu, diarrhea, horrid snotty noses and all kinds of contagious stuff. its really one of the reasons I left work. I did tell co-workers point blank that I was on chemo meds for my RA and that them being around me sick could make me so sick i would need to be hospitalized. So if they could steer clear until they were well i would appreciate it. I also wiped down my work station with lysol wipes as well. I bit of over the top...but for the most part it did not work. People these days are very inconsiderate. It did work for friends...especial the ones with small little terror kids that wanted to visit me...or hold their snotty nosed kid. They quickly got the message. I also have trained friends to call before " dropping by " . I did this by asking and when they ignorred my request I stopped answering the door. When they would call back I let them know I am so sorry by I was feeling very bad and was trying to take a hot bath to feel better or that I was resting. They finally got the message. Think one thing you have to do is really take charge of the situation because those who have never dealt with an illness like this tend to minimize you problems and ignor you needs. Lastly, report any cough that does not go away. I had drug induced pneumonitis and suffered for a month with my rheummy ignorring me. I could have had permenent damage to my lungs or died. Thank God my PCP recognized my symptoms and made me stop the MTX immediately.
