Guest guest
I have requested my 17 year old son's medical records from our GP and got a letter back saying return a form and £10 and they will consider my application but may decline.......can they decline? I have returned the form and £10. I got back home last night to an answer phone message asking me to call back and am trying to prepare myself. I did not fill in the bit asking me why I wanted a copy....I don't need a reason do I? Am planning on changing GPs shortly but wanted his medical records before leaving...in case they don't get transferred properly to the new GP. x
Guest guest
Dear , It says on the nhs page that you don't have to give a reason to access your medical records. The only example given for refusal is that the information could cause serious harm. http://www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/1309.aspx?categoryid=68 & subcategoryid=160 Hope everything goes well.
