Hi Yes we have been going to Hemispheres for near on 2 years now they are excellent and have really helped my son but its not cheap, we pay £110 every time we see them, which they like to be monthly but sometimes i have to cancel depending on finances. Im looking into Qigong massage, which has been proven to help with behaviours/anxiety/stress/speech etc, i have ordered a book that comes with a DVD http://www.amazon.co.uk/Qigong-Massage-Your-Child-Autism/dp/1848190700/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid=1338501381 & sr=8-1 and also this one too http://www.amazon.co.uk/Six-Healing-Sounds-With-/dp/1848190514/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid=1338501473 & sr=8-1 But whilst waiting for them started to do some Qigong that i picked up watching this you tube video, i have done these exercises 3 times today & yesterday and once the day before and already my son is alot calmer and it was noted today at one of his groups that he was full of smiles and very happy, something which hasnt been the norm lately!

actually giggles when i am doing the exercises now x To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: Mum231ASD@...Date: Thu, 31 May 2012 17:12:27 -0400Subject: Re: which workshop to choose at conference?

and some other folks here use Hemispheres they address retained primitive reflexes and all sorts on the OT side and they teach you to do it at home, could be an option for daily treatment especially as he was doing so well with it before.

http://www.hemispheres.org.uk/

I have never been but others will chip in, we used Bob The brushing man for my lads RPReflexes, others have used INPP, some of these incorporate Brain Gym, sounds like a good focus for your effects whilst you research various educational therapy options for your lad

http://www.inpp.org.uk/

HANDLE is great and WIlliams does a very reasonable 2 day introduction which usually starts with a free lecture if you have one going on near you. This was helping Sam I am sure, we pulled back on that programme as I couldn't cope with Scotson Therapy and HANDLE at the same time, we still do bits of it at home and school but haven't been back for a review in 2 years which I should organise now I thought about how long ago it was, again folks here use HANDLE, Sandys lass did very well with it

http://handle.org/

As somebody else suggested search on youtube, lots of video's about therapies on there

That should keep you put of mischief for a while LOL

Mandi x

My son had been through rigorous (daily) program with Occupational Therapists when he was in India and showed good progress with motoring skills and behaviour, but that level of involvement of therapists in this country will leave me bankrupt. We were hoping to get good amount of OT time in my son's school but realised that it would not be possible as they had a part-time OT for 168 children which they planned to increase to all days in the week. Naturally they had to work on a need basis rather than regular basis with my son because there still is not enough OT time available to look at all children regularly.

I know, my Daughter Shannen saw me giving Harry his massage today and said, "oh i wouldnt mind you doing that to me", havent had the chance though as she left for work shortly afterwards! There is a huge science behind it, i posted these you tube videos the other day, well worth watching, it all makes a huge lot of sense

following explains about rewiring of brain plasicity, which is

possible:- http://www.bewellbuzz.com/experts/rewire-brain-with-qigong/

http://www.qigong4seniors.com/general/mediation-improves-brain-plasticity/ Im sold on it and if the results on the videos above are to go by, its potentially is the cheapest therapy so far! x

This is all useful information. Thanks. Now I feel like attending each of the workshop which I wish I could had it been on 3 different days (:-I might toss a coin to decide which I one I should as the more I read I cannot decide one over other. An on top of making you into a super warrior ;) according to one of those articles below: "In addition to changing your neurochemistry and accelerating healing, Qigong has a powerful pro-youthing effect." What's not to like!!I've been doing it (not the massage, the actual workout) for a few weeks and already feel buzzing with youthful energy LOL not really, but it is REALLY enjoyable :). You can sometimes see people in parks doing it — next time it could be me hugging that invisible tree … Reply-To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Date: Thu, 31 May 2012 22:25:01 +0000To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Subject: RE: which workshop to choose at conference? - QIGONG

Hi Varun, this is because workshop registration was not possible to set up through the current ticket booking system. Hi Natasha,As per the instructions I thought we need to select specific conference and also provide the TA membership number. This was one of the reasons I kept postponing the registration till the last minute as I had to made up my mind on which specific conference I would like to attend. I am assuming that people would asked to confirm the workshop details shortly.VarunTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: neno@...Date: Fri, 1 Jun 2012 00:03:08 +0100Subject: Re: which workshop to choose at conference? - QIGONG

No I actually attend classes, they are now everywhere! My first regular outing in ions so that could be adding to the 'floating on clouds' effect :) I think Qigong is always combined with Tai chi (mine are actually tai chi classes, qigong is a 'warm up' to it), but I could be wrong, it could be thought on its own in some places. But if you cannot attend classes regularly, or at all, it would be worth joining a class a few times as Qigong is easy to learn and I believe can be done at home later (preferably in the garden, or on the rooftop ;) without further tutoring. Tai chi is different and takes much longer to learn … There must be loads of videos on youtube, I haven't lookedReply-To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Date: Thu, 31 May 2012 23:23:36 +0000To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Subject: RE: which workshop to choose at conference? - QIGONG

Hi again,Not sure if by 'conference' below you mean actual Behavioural Workshops that take place on Saturday? There are three Workshops: ABA/VB, RDI and II. Or do you mean which DAY of the conference? You don't need to decide on workshops straight away – you can register for your chosen Workshop at any time after booking your ticket, or not register for a Workshop at all, but by registering late or by turning up on the day without having registered you run the risk of your chosen workshop being full. In which case you would be allocated a place at whichever workshop still has available places. I hope I am making it clear?Natasa Reply-To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Date: Fri, 1 Jun 2012 00:20:16 +0100To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Subject: RE: which workshop to choose at conference? - QIGONG
