Guest guest
Yes , I know a little bit about the final stages of RA. My husband died from complications of RA in 1994 when he was 64 years old. I feel so bad for all of you. I know how tough it's going to be for you going through all this. We didn't use hospice. I took sick leave to take care of him. Guest guest
Hi and Welcome: That is so wonderful that you are willing to take your mother-in-law into your house to care for her. I do not have any experience with hospice other than my mom had them when she was dying of colon cancer, and the benefits of hospice were tremendous in taking some of the stress off of the family. I am so sorry to hear that her RA is so advance and she is in so much pain. Is her doctor adequately treating her pain, in your opinion? What medications is she on? Has she tried biologics? , you are not alone, you have come to the right place for support and information. We are here for family members too, as RA affects everyone in the family, not just the patient. I hope that you do give Hospice a try - you might find that getting a bit of time away from your mother-in-law, and caring for her, will be of great benefit to you and your wife. You also need to take care of that relationship, and not let it get put aside in caring for her mother. I wish you the best, and come here anytime you need, to vent, when times are good or bad, when you have questions, we are here for you. Take care - Kathe in CA --- > __________________________________________________
