Guest guest
I've had similar conversation today with Dr G. I wondered if me, and Charlie were repeatedly passing it around. has tested positive before and has sore throat every few weeks. When Dr G examined Charlie straight away he said he had strep. I don't get a sore throat but keep getting bad sinus apin and at moment have unbearable pain in all my teeth and gums. GP put me on augumentin today - hate taking them, will get yeast choose what I do. Is augumentin likely to be effective for me - I'm noticing that different antibiotics are been used. Dr G mentioned erithromycin??? for 6 weeks for Charlie is test is positive. He felt this was probably reason for stubborness and self restriction with food which is getting worse. We were hoping to treat strep through yasko but its virtually impossible to get the immune factors she uses to UK. If anyones had success with this please let me know.Alison R Now I was quite sure after quizzing Eileen at NAA conference last year and hearing presentation, I was quite sure we didn't have strep issues with Sam but when DG examined him he has yes he has it. Due to issues of script we never got started when we should, then 2 full on long tonic clonic seizures in the same day, so we never started and still won't until we get the AED's up to dose and settled out. GP Rx'd us a months worth of what DG prescribed including Zithro, I asked for a course for me as I have had an off and off sore throat for about 18 months and wondered if we were reinfecting each other. I took the 3 day course and felt wonderful for those plus 4 more days and then effects faded, I can see why dosing is sometimes 3 days on 4 days off (this is what DG rxd for Sam) Now my goodie bag arrived from 4RX.com I have been on Zithro 500mg for 8 days along with 150mg of DIflucan and I am beginning to feel like a new woman. Spookily throat is sore about every other day then goes, mostly in morning. I am not sure how long I'll continue, I have a bucket load and Sam won't be using them for a while. Tom and Joe also have internittent sore throats so once GCSE's and A2's are finished and I pin them down I plan to give them 7 days course. I think most of us are so exhausted we don't know anymore what feels really good Mandi x PS Bugger throat feels swollen now just while I was writing this mail, I'll beat the buggers back down tomorrow morning with next dose! Guest guest
Hi Mandi, Just a couple of thoughts ... Guess you are changing toothbrushes regularly http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16022040 - we clean our toothbrushes with 3% hydrogen peroxide and also replace regularly (Home Bargains sell some toothbrushes for about 20p each). I was wondering if using a neti pot helped with strep (after a quick search I'm still not sure if it does - but we feel it is somehow beneficial for us - we use luke warm water with a little sea salt.) Best wishes, Sandy
Guest guest
Erthyromycin and Zithro are the same family of drugs............Zithro costs mega, other one cheap as chips Mx Is augumentin likely to be effective for me - I'm noticing that different antibiotics are been used. Guest guest
fwiw, Daughters and grandchildren -probably all of us have this chronic strep. A few weeks back, I read a ridiculously simple suggestion on one of the groups: brush teeth w some baking soda and instead of spitting it out, take a bit more water in w it and gargle, then spit all out. My chronic ear and sore throat is gone. Several white hard 'stones' have and continue to appear in gargle washings - don't quite know where they come from as none are visible. My sinuses feel almost clear for the first time in a long time. Haven't been able to get my aut daughter to do this yet but I'm working on it. She was on an extended routine of zithro to get strep titers down and I figure that this simple wash may help keep things clear. > > Now I was quite sure after quizzing Eileen at NAA conference last year and > hearing presentation, I was quite sure we didn't have strep issues with Sam > but when DG examined him he has yes he has it.
