Guest guest
Belinda, I have emailed you the article Kirsty x > > My son is booked in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy at Chelsea and Westminster, he last had one when he was 3 now is almost 9. I am really concerned about the affect of the anaesthetic and thinking of cancelling the whole thing as he has been ill all winter and has mitochondrial disorder symptoms. I know there was an article in the Autism File about this so digging my old copies out but wondered if anyone had any recent experience and can offer any advice? > Belinda >

Guest guest
Having sleepless nights deciding whether to go ahead with an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, and just remembering that unless you can have a pill cam investigation it may not give you enough information? I think I remember that from Krigsman at a Treating Autism Conference. Busy researching now but does that sound right ? Belinda
Guest guest
I thought my sons scopes were useless! Yes we had inflammation (dont they all) and we had lymphocytic colitis and we had some reflux (again very very common) but there was no treatment protocol following this (except some anti-acids which I wouldnt want my son on long term) When I went back to my gastro after getting an H-pylori positive on a stool test 4 years later, he agreed this could have been the possible cause of all the symptoms...treated with a 2 week course of anti-biotics!!!What are you looking for??? Guest guest
Hi Belinda Re anesthetic, my son had surgery recently and I gave the anesthesiologist all the info from the two articles and we decided that sevoflurane was the best choice for him. I told them he was allergic to nitrous oxide so that it wasn't mixed in. He came around very quickly and had no lingering side effects. It does have fluoride but I think I read that it leaves the body fairly quickly, can't remember exactly now. Best wishes > > Having sleepless nights deciding whether to go ahead with an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, and just remembering that unless you can have a pill cam investigation it may not give you enough information? Guest guest
Good question! What am I looking for? hasn't put on any weight since November, although he finally did this month. He has had diarrhoea since November which is new for him, but he has had sore throat after sore throat and a horrible cough all Winter, with him swallowing all that he coughs up. I want to know what his enzyme activity is like and want to rule out ulcerative colitis and crohns but not sure if they could find that out with out a pill cam. 's last investigation when he was 3 he's now almost 9 showed inflammation and we had the same out come as your self with no treatment protocol. Guess I would be able to know how bad it was and make choices from there? I just don't know if the trauma is worth it if theres little information to be gained? Thank you for all the anaesthetic advice all super helpful, feel easier about that part of it ! Thank you for letting me think " out loud " !!!! Guest guest
Arthur Krigsman has a clinic set up in Bulgaria, 1/4 of the price of going to USA to get a Pill cam, not sure of details but Polly Tommey should know Mx Good question! Guest guest
Bellinda, Did you think that he may have giant roundworm? All the symptoms you describing can be caused by it. Guest guest
Kasia, had a bioressonance test last week that showed he had parasites!!! He goes super super crazy at full moons, he didn't sleep a wink over the last one. Do you know where I could get him tested for Giant round worm? I remember a discussion last week or week before here about testing for parasites. Im going to look into it now. Many thanks for this Belinda
Guest guest
Belinda, I am going to see Dr Ozimek (he is very good at parasites)in Warsaw, he knows English and his appointments are not expensive (less than 200zl which is around 40 pound for an appointment for a family of 4: http://ozimek.orangemail.pl/. He told me to do a few tests before the appointment: parasites, fungi and Lamblia here:www.laboratoriumfelix.com (stool can be shipped, the woman is excellent at finding lamblia)toxoplasmosis and lamblias antibodies (blood) here:http://www.nadzieja.com.pl/ You can also do the pill cam in Poland for around 2500 zl which is a bit more than £460 (Krakow: http://www.endoskopia.net.pl/pl/cennik.php). Some Polish NHS hospitals (privately, you don't need referral)do it too, but I don't know how difficult it would be without speaking Polish. Every hospital in Poland has a list of prices for any tests (MRI included) and you can pay and have it done with little if any waiting. I am going to test everything possible when I'm there :)I've been asking my ped to check free T3 and T4 for 6 months with no reply, so going somewhere where testing is so easy feels like Christmas!
