Guest guest
Good morning Was wondering if anyone knows how much school education costs per pupil in United Kingdom, per annum, e.g.: LA Primary school place 7 year old LA Special needs school with 1:1 staff/pupil ratio for 7 year old LA Special needs school with 1:4 staff/pupil ratio for 7 year old I have heard in the past that even a mainstream primary school place costs the LA about £11,000 per annum per pupil but Im not 100% sure how accurate this is The reason for asking is it can help in negotiations for funding special autism programs (sonrise/ ABA etc). For example if you did a part time ABA programme at £15k per annum, you could argue it is almost identical to the cost of a special needs school perhaps Best wishes
Guest guest
Costs here in Swansea (children are banded - I think that might be a Welsh thing) and the highest cost band (i.e. for most of our kids) is £18,300 Hope that helps, Sara
Guest guest
Also Swansea release the funding without putting the alternative education actually on the statement This is a very nice way to do things, it doesn't cost them any more. They know the child is getting a good education and it takes pressure off their education system. Also it avoids going to tribunal and the costs and aggro of that as well as the possibility of failure and of forking out more for them. keeps everyone happy. Guest guest
- look on old Ofsted reports from around 2000 for all the schools you want to contrast with - they give the cost per pupil. Newer reports have taken this info out but it would give you a very rough idea to start with. Wonder where they publish more upto date info and how they justify no longer making this publically available. N.B. LEAs are charged at consultancy fee rates (ie higher rates) for NHS therapeutic input eg SLT.
