The flue vaccine doesn't work, its last years strain and a waste of time IMHO

Mx

Hello everyone. I am 10 days into an appalling flu-type viral infection - fevers over 39c even after ibuprofen and paracetamol and I am seriously thinking of getting vaccintaed against flu next autumn, although I have avoided the jabs for quite a few years. I have diabetes so my mmune sustemfor chest infection and the temperatures aren't as bad.) Is there a form of flu vaccine that's got less rubbish in it than the others? At several points with this illness I have been concerned about the terrible strain my heart was under - felt extremely ill and could see for the first time how flu could kill a weak person. Have been dosing up on supplements and herbals etc, though I ran out of echinacea very early on. Apparently the nasal vaccine can't be used on people my age nor with diabetics.I think I shall ask the GP about having access to antivirals next time. (Which ones?)back to my sick bed now.. Henry had it and was better after a day or two.Margaret

Margaret,

IMO one of the simplest ways to really have an impact on your immune system is

Epicor. The research on it is really good. You can read articles at VRP.com

(where I buy it, as that is the original formulation). It increases sIgA and

also NK cells.

I now know quite a few people who have used it to pretty amazing effect. I hope

you're better soon.

I don't know what to do, Mandi, though. mY heart's still going very fast and I'm

still fevered and the cough is awful. Obvioulsy I'm not able to handle

infections like I used to.

Any ideas what might help - apart from getting prescription anti virals in for

first aid?

You sound like I felt when I crashed last year, I would be very surprized if you didn;t have adrenal fatigur which would also throw your thyroid into a worse state, I special you out a goodie bag tomorrow with Epicor, wholefood multi and some celtic sea salt, do you have any at home? Its ghastly when you first start but wit this weather and high temp your electrolytes I reckon will be all over the place and could be making the racing worse.

Do you feel better in evenings than the morning?

Thank you! Usually I'm better in the evenings - except at the moment the fever

peaks in the evening.

Don'tknow if this is relevant - but I always get problems this time of year (ie hayfever season). Always end up at GPs even though very reluctant to go near the place. Apart from all the obvious stuff - like getting exercise (2 short walks a day works for me), good diet (ie minimal carbs and sugars) - I have found that co enzyme C 10 helps. (Nb my blood pressure always goes off the scale at this time of year - though recording it outside immune season has shown it is normal the rest ofyear. Sometimes my heart races - to the extent my acupuncturist who knows me well - was really really concerned)

I think you finally crashed Margaret, take it seriously. The Adrenal stress profile is about £95, you have to spit 5mls at certain times of day, certainly focused my mind. Some Oxysilver might help knock this infection on the head but I suspect immune system can;t cope anymore, knock on effect of adrenals/thyroid, its going to take a while to get you back where you should be, I'm still working on it 13 months after my crash. Celtic Sea Salt loading worked the quickest Hang in there Mandi xPS Is there a 52 option at hassocks? Thank you!
