Guest guest
> Dear All I would be extremely grateful for ANY input. I am looking for any recommendations regarding an ed psych who can assess in a meaningful way my daughter who has very little expressive speech. I realise that its quite a tall order as most ed psychs can only administer conventional tests which would not be suitable for Sophie. I am just so utterly utterly fed up of both her and I being patronised (I am being restrained in my language here) by so-called professionals and would like to get a clear picture of my daughters cognitive profile. > I realise this is off topic but any advice would be so so very gratefully received. > Emma and Sophie ASD 10 yrs 53 rounds AC Dr Carpenter has worked with selectively silent individuals. He found issues I was having that no other professional could and made some excellent recommendations. Also made the tests fun. Education was a nightmare for me so i can understand you wishing the best for your daughter. -- is
Guest guest
Not sure whether she's still working? She wasn't keen to do an assessment for us when we had our last Tribunal but there may have been a good reason for this - I can't remember. Guest guest
Hi Emma, Non-verbal testing can determine a child's IQ. I recommend Dirk Flower who is a Chartered Educational Pyschologist, whom I used when my son had minimal language but tested with average IQ for his age.
