Guest guest
My son (7 years old) was diagnosed with several allergies a couple of months ago and it was recommended to start him on anti-histamines so he started taking Piriteze, half at night and half in the morning about 6 weeks ago. They seemed to make him tired at school so I dropped the morning dose and just gave half at night. I thought I would try again during the holiday to see if it made any difference so have been giving twice a day for about 5 days now. Yesterday his skin started looking a bit red and today his face was definitely flushed for the majority of the day, worse when he was upset although he had to have blood testing today so that probably made it worse. Is this a normal reaction to anti-histamine? He's mostly non-verbal but when I asked if it hurts or itches he said no, and it's not hot to touch. I didn't give his dose tonight but wonder if anyone has heard of this happening and whether I should stop, try a different one, take a break? I don't know if it's related but he was really well behaved today, much better than usual. If anyone knows anything about this I would be grateful for any advice Thanks
