Guest guest
Yes - Rita Jordan referred to this in her book " Autism with Severe Learning Difficulties " published in 2001. The blurb on the Amazon site says: " Yet the group whose needs are perhaps the greatest - those with the dual problems of autism and severe learning difficulties - have been rather neglected. " And they still are. We have to make sure they are not forgotten. Guest guest
Trouble is autism has become a catch all diagnosis and those at the very bottom are generally not considered wasting much time, money or effort on. Now that Iv'e said that don't let anyone convince you it's because all the money has gone to the HFA's coz here's the thing, Severe= Funds spent on those who will most benefit [so, stuff all for you lot] HFA= Funds spent on those whose need is greatest [so stuff all for you lot] Best spend the money on that really deserving goup of leeches, those hanging off the backs of our kids just so they can think up ever more artful ways of avoiding the job they are very well paid for. Imagine how much money could be available if those who made no difference to our kids life were asked to leave the party! Guest guest
The new trend is the waiting list ......there is one for virtually all services now , that is the ones that "still are doing their"(none really do) job .....our OT department has stopped to give diagnosis, therapy has been years that has gone out of the window , they seem to fill their time in school meetings sipping tea and being mute.
