Hope you have a sense of humor:

Lucky you, you only have 1/2 of the disease :)

Hi

I've been diagnosed with RA for just over 2 years. I'm Irish but live in

Japan. After I was first diagnosed, I went home for a visit and saw a

rheumatologist there who suggested I had palindromic RA partly because I had

asymmetrical symptoms.

However, my guy here told me that palindromic RA was more usually one that

had symptoms that came and went, for various lengths of time. I had mild but

consistent symptoms.

Just being asymmetrical doesn't seem to be a reason for it not being RA.

There are many of us who only feel it on one side.

best wishes

AnneMarie

Hi Annemarie,

Mine does come and go, sometimes rapidly going from joint to joint.

(though the pain in my trochanter bursars has been pretty

unrelenting) I'm not sure what mild vs. more severe RA is. Based on

symptoms, mine feels pretty severe... At it's worst, two percocet

don't begin to touch the pain, and I've had joints totally seize

up. But I don't have any joint damage at this point, so I guess

from that perspective, it's mild.
