Hi a:

What a great sister you are to write in for your

brother. The support you can give him is so very

important - family that understands is a wonderful

thing. Yes, I have an electric blanket and I love it.

When it is cold, I turn it on, and it feels so good.

I have Fibromyalgia as well as RA, and with both, the

heat is very helpful.

Since your brother is in the early stages of

treatment, tell him that it may take a while for the

meds to begin to really kick in, and that adjustments

in meds/doses of meds is normal in the first few

months. I am glad that his doctor is treating him

aggressively, as that is the best way to fight RA.

What meds is he taking?

This group is made up of the most wonderful caring and

supportive people. Go to the RA-Support page and you

will find a lot of information on RA, meds, etc.

Hopefully some day your brother will feel like getting

on line with us, we do have some men in the group

around his age I believe, and we would love to meet

him.
