Guest guest
I'm still here, Joyce, thanks for your concern. I haven't had a need to say anything and the board was kinda dead lately. I'm also trying to gather all the papers for Betty's disability application. Because she applied with the Social Security Disability folks, the county is trying to set her up with food stamps and whatever she's entitled to. I have a feeling they are out for their share of her estate when she dies. I don't know if it's everywhere, but Texas has to be 're-imbursed' for all they will have dished out to her when she dies. I need to talk to a lawyer, I guess. I also have been having a time with Sjogrens. 2 nights ago, I awoke after a couple of hours with crusty lips that I could breathe through with them tightly closed, and the rest of my mouth was very dry as well. I had gone to bed without any chewing gum. Along with that, I can take a swallow of water after sloshing it around my mouth, and the bad stuff goes away. Until then I can't talk because of the dryness and I don't know what to do with it. Any ideas without breaking the bank? I have one prescription for Evoxac, but it's too expensive at about $50 per month. Dennis in Eastexas " It's not Rocket Surgery " [ ] Dennis from East Texas > Where is Dennis from East Texas? Guest guest
Dennis, I try to keep a few sugarless mints on the night table along with a bottle of water. Salagen is also a high copay med for me (60 bucks) so I stretch them out as far as possible. I had a sjogrens flareup right after I had surgery on my nose,I was still all packed and stuff, with the worst dry mouth ever. I am sure I was a sight to see, I probably looked like a monster! I really try to drink enough water during the day, and that helps a little bit. -- In , <betnden@...> wrote: > > I'm still here, Joyce, thanks for your concern. Guest guest
I talked to a nurse in the Rheumy's office and told her about not being able to afford the meds. She told me about gargling with half Milk of Magnesia and half water. Has anyone heard of that? She also suggested I start using Provident Colgate toothpaste. Another one I haven't heard of.
