Guest guest
Hi Sacha It's been really calming, helps a lot with his ADD which is pretty severe. When this is under control everything else is so much easier. He also looks so much better, no dark circles and really clear skin. He had undiagnosed allergies (was told previously he was very UNallergenic) but saw an ENT for undiagnosed tongue tie and she immediately noticed his allergies and did some testing which showed he had quite severe allergies. Amazing how many things go undiagnosed despite seeing a phenomenal amount of doctors and specialists throughout the years! I think because he can breathe better he must get more oxygen, and he's definitely sleeping better. I've read it can take 2-3 months before improvements are seen in ADD so I'm excited to see if things get even better. BTW, tracked down the suppliers of Zaditen in the UK and they are not supplying wholesalers anymore, but pharmacies can order directly with them with a prescription, so hopefully we will get our supply back by Friday. Our GP is happy to prescribe it, but said that he doesn't think anyone else at the practice has ever had it before. > > Hi , > > In what way has this helped your son? would be very interested to know. > > Thanks > Sacha >
Guest guest
It was same with my GP – she had never heard of it (!), had to look it up in her little book but was happy to prescribe based on the info there Could you post the name of the supplier please, or pm me please if for any reason they like to keep it low profile ? Is it directly from South Africa (or was it Portugal?) Btw ketotifen has much wider effects than 'just' blocking histamines that could be beneficial for our kids. It is a strong antiinflammatory agent amongst few other things! We also saw improvement in ADD, less anxiety … Natasa Reply-To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Date: Wed, 13 Jun 2012 22:07:15 -0000To: "Autism-Biomedical-Europe " <Autism-Biomedical-Europe >Subject: Re: Ketotifen/Zaditen Hi Sacha It's been really calming, helps a lot with his ADD which is pretty severe. Guest guest
We did ketotifen here and our son went through a really bad patch in the beginning, only to come out of it with a new sense of calmness. The only thing though was after a few months he started to get blood noses and when I stopped the ketotifen, the blood noses stopped. Just thought I'd mention it so you can look out for that. > > > > Hi , > > > > In what way has this helped your son? would be very interested to know. > > > > Thanks > > Sacha > > >
Guest guest
i get mine prescribed by GP and pick it up at local chemist. karenza > > > Dr G prescribed this for my son and I've managed to get it on prescription from my GP but apparently there are manufacturing problems with it and pharmacies can no longer order it in, hopefully temporarily. This has been the best thing ever for my son, he's now run out completely and I'm desperate to get my hands on some. Does anyone happen to get this and/or know of any pharmacies that might keep it in stock? > Thanks >
Guest guest
Yes that is also why we stopped, had 2-3 days of nosebleeds when first starting, which then went away but reappeared again after 5 or 6 months. We waited tried stopping and restarting but the same thing happened and they didn't go away this time so we stopped ketitofen completely. Luckily the gains stayed, and later also tried other antihistamines and tolerated them fine. I know a child, now recovered, who has been on ketotifen for 2 years without any problems. Guest guest
hi my son did really well on ketotifen we did it for about 9 months saw gains alongside neuroprotek, luckily the gains continued, but dr G felt we should come off. then we had a break and then did amino acids with dr K and saw a big leap in everything, except speech. I think if your child is sensitive you should trial it low and slow like everything else, Isobel > > > > > > Hi , > > > > > > In what way has this helped your son? would be very interested to know. > > > > > > Thanks > > > Sacha > > > > > >
Guest guest
Your pharmacy needs to order directly with United Drug Group who supply it for Swedish Orphan Biovitrum http://www.sobi.com/Healthcare-Professionals/Ordering-products/Ordering-Informat\ ion/United-Kingdom-/ They are no longer providing it to wholesalers as they have a limited supply. > > > > Hi , > > > > In what way has this helped your son? would be very interested to know. > > > > Thanks > > Sacha > > >
